• Construction of Damascus Stock Exchange Building in The Eighth Gate crosses half-way mark
  Damascus, Syria; June 28, 2009: Emaar-IGO, a venture between Emaar Syria and IGO, has made rapid progress on the construction of the Damascus Stock Exchange building, a key component of the Commercial Centre of The Eighth Gate, with more than 50 per cent work already over.


• Opening the Ottoman Gate at the Old Souqs
  Damascus, December 18th 2008: within the framework of project “Reviving the business climate and boasting tourism in Deir Ezzor”, the launching of the project activities and the Opening Ceremonies of the Ottoman Gate toke place at Deir Ezzor 18th December 2008. The project is implemented by State Planning Commission and United Nations Development Programme, with the technical support from UNESCO and in cooperation with Deir Ezzor Governorate, Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Deir Ezzor and Emaar Syria.


• Construction of The Eighth Gate makes rapid progress
  Damascus, Syria; October 15, 2008: Emaar-IGO, a venture between Emaar Syria and IGO, is making rapid progress on the US$500 million Eighth Gate, the pioneering master-planned community that creates a new commercial nerve-centre near Damascus. Construction of the project is progressing at a fast pace with leading contractors and engineers undertaking the work.


• Emaar sponsors Ramadan tent at Four Seasons Damascus
  Damascus, Syria; September 11, 2008: Emaar - IGO, developer of The Eighth Gate, the country's pioneering master-planned community, is the sponsor of the Ramadan tent at Four Seasons Damascus hotel through the Holy Month of Ramadan. Emaar - IGO will showcase a model of The Eighth Gate at the Ramadan tent, which will sport an authentic Damascus-style ambience that celebrates the heritage of the legendary seven gates of the city.


• The Eighth Gate launches new building,
  The Eighth Gate is developed by Emaar-IGO, a venture between Emaar Syria, a subsidiary of Emaar Properties PJSC and Invest Group Overseas, an offshore investment and property development company. Having energized Yafour by building a platform for growth, The Eighth Gate, the pioneering master-planned community by Emaar Properties and IGO, has launched a new building in the Financial District next to the Damascus Stock Exchange Building. • Emaar Properties signs joint venture dealwith Cham Holding CompanyDamascus, Syria; February 27, 2008: Emaar Properties PJSC, the Dubai-based property developer with a significant presence in 36 markets globally, has signed a joint venture agreement with Cham Holding Company, Syria, to develop mixed-use projects in key destinations in the country. The new company, Emaar Cham will have an initial equity base of US$100 million, equally shared by the two partners, and will create master-planned communities that will further boost the Syrian economy.
  

• Emaar-IGO launches sale of Eighth Gate Commercial Centre in Dubai on Feb. 23Dubai, UAE; February 19, 2008: Emaar-IGO, a venture between Emaar Syria and IGO, an offshore investment and property development company, will host an exclusive sale of prime office space within The Eighth Gate, Emaar-IGO's master-planned community in Syria, at the Downtown Burj Dubai sales centre on February 23 from 10am to 6pm.
  
  
• Emaar signs contract with Saudi Binladin Group for infrastructure work on Eighth GateDamascus, Syria; December 05th, 2007: Emaar-IGO has contracted Saudi Binladin Group to undertake the infrastructure work of the SYP26 billion (US$500 million) Eighth Gate project. Al Marasem, the Syria-based company of Binladin Group, will undertake works related to plumping, electricity, roads and telecom.
